The Pulley Tool is a tool for the Tool Gun. It creates a pulley constraint between 2 physics entities and 2 anchor points. If an entity at one end of a pulley constraint gets moved away from an anchor point, then the other entity will get pushed/pulled to its anchor. Freezing one of the entities in the pulley with the Physgun will make the restrictions of movement of the other entity like that of the Ball Socket tool.
Usage
- Use the primary fire (default: left mouse button) to select an entity with physics to be at one end of the pulley.
- Use the primary fire twice on what will be anchor points for the pulley. It doesn't have to be the world. If it isn't the world, then if the prop or entity that an anchor point gets made on moves or gets removed, then the anchor point becomes unaffected and will not move with the entity. Two anchor points can be placed in the same position.
- Use the primary fire to select the second entity with physics to be at the other end of the pulley and have the pulley constraint completed.
- Use the reload key (default: R) to remove all pulley constraints on the entity.
Configuration
It has a maximum force variable that if the force exceeds the limit, then the constraint will break unless the value is 0. It also has a checkbox to make it rigid. If checked, then when one of the two entities gets pulled back to the anchor point, the other entity will be pushed away from its anchor point.
