A Stargate pack created by aVoN back between 2006 and 2007, containing weaponry, tools, and, of course, the Stargate itself. This add-on is fully compatible with Wiremod, allowing for Asgard teleporters, remote Iris control, and whatnot. It got a major overhaul in 2008 with the higher detailed assets that we can still see today. It was one of the most widely used addon found on almost all Spacebuild and Sandbox servers which at the time were the most common server gamemodes. Around 2011 to 2013 during the fretta update and as Garry's Mod transitioned to using the Steam Workshop the era of servers where players create their own narrative in Sandbox and Spacebuild like gamemodes was changing and roleplay, minigames and more casual drop in and out gamemodes took it's place. It still exists on the workshop as the Carter Addon Pack and there were other packs made by others that attempted to expand and add to it but as of today all are abandoned. The development is discontinued at version 499.4. In addition to the SENTs, Tools and SWEPS, a special code is included that places the Stargates and Ring teleporters in certain maps automatically, like gm_construct.
The addon spawned various other user projects such as maps designed around the Stargate addon as well as a gamemode which was a modified version of DarkRP dubbed StargateRP by the users Myrrdin and Carson Beckett, this also became the foundation for the community they started Gerbil Mountain. The popular mapper flyboi also created some popular roleplay maps such as rp_stargateworlds.
There are a variety of entities that come with the Stargate pack, for example, the Stargate, Asgard teleporters, Ring Platforms ect.
Stargate
The Stargate is a device created by the Ancients to allow them to traverse across the Milky Way, Pegasus, and other galaxies instantly. In the pack, the Stargates are both Milky Way and Pegasus versions. However, there are also other versions of the gate available as well outside the pack and available for download at garrysmod.org. These gates include the Ori gate, Tolianna gate, and the gate from the current series known as Stargate Universe. (Milky Way's gate is grey with orange lit chevrons, Pegasus' gate is grey and blue with blue lit chevrons, and Universe's gate is greyish white with white-lit chevrons) They can be dialed by pressing the 'Use' key while facing them, or through a DHD. Then activated, an unstable vortex is ejected, called the 'Kawhoosh' effect. This will vaporize anything in contact, except effects, in other words it will kill organics instantly. When stepping through, you will be instantly teleported to the corresponding Stargate.

The DHD (Dial Home Device) allows players to dial the Stargate, if not walking up to the gate and USE'ing it. The DHD can be used two ways for dialing. One would be to individually press each symbol in the gates adress by pressing USE while the cursor is over each one, or to hit USE over the dome in the middle of the S to bring up the dialing menu. The DHD comes with aVoN's pack, but just like the Stargate, there are other models available at garrysmod.org. the two DHDs that are included in the pack are the Milky Way DHD and Pegasus DHD. (Milky Way being grey with an orange dome, and Pegasus being black with a blue dome.)
Carter's Addon Pack
Building upon aVoN's Stargate addon came Carter's Addon Pack.
Stargate Carter Pack more commonly known as Carter's Addon Pack or CAP is an addon for Garry's mod that adds new content elements to the game, all based off the Stargate franchise from the 1994 film to the late Stargate Universe. Carter's Addon Pack gives the most impressive array of Stargate elements for Garry's Mod, allowing much more diversity & variations for Stargate gameplay in Garry's Mod.
CAP (Carter's Addon Pack) covers many themes found in Stargate, such as Lantean technology, Asgard technology and many others, without forgetting the devices and weapons found and seen in the Stargate shows, which often became deadly threats or powerful assets to the people of Stargate Command, Atlantis and Destiny.
